Manor Solomon's stoppage-time winner sealed a 2-1 victory for Leeds United at Plymouth Argyle, clinching the Championship title for Leeds and confirming Plymouth's relegation

With Burnley defeating Millwall 3-1, Leeds United claimed the Championship title on goal difference, having already secured promotion back to the Premier League last month after a two-year absence.

Plymouth Argyle took the lead when Mustapha Bundu’s shot struck the post and rebounded in off Sam Byram, moments after Bundu had hit the Leeds upright.

Leeds, who entered the final day at the top of the table, struggled to break down a determined Plymouth side until early in the second half, when Willy Gnonto swept home Manor Solomon’s cross to equalize.

Joel Piroe thought he had put Leeds ahead with 17 minutes remaining, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside as Daniel Farke’s team pushed for the title-clinching goal.

Just when it looked like they might finish second, Solomon cut in from the left and drilled a low shot into the bottom corner in stoppage time, sparking wild celebrations among the travelling Leeds supporters.

Leeds started brightly, with early efforts from Joe Rodon and Brenden Aaronson forcing saves from Conor Hazard, but soon found themselves behind.

Mustapha Bundu had already issued a warning, beating three defenders before rattling the outside of the post. Moments later, the in-form Sierra Leone international cut in from the left and struck a low shot that rebounded off the far post and deflected in off an unfortunate Sam Byram.

Leeds nearly responded instantly, with Joel Piroe turning Jayden Bogle’s shot over from close range. As they pushed for an equaliser, Byram, Ao Tanaka, and Willy Gnonto all had half-chances, but a clear breakthrough eluded them before the break.

The second half resumed in similar fashion, with Piroe again missing the target before Gnonto finally levelled, turning in Solomon’s low cross from the byline.

Byram then went close with a glancing header, and Piroe thought he had scored the go-ahead goal, only for it to be ruled out for offside after Gnonto was deemed just beyond the last defender before providing the assist—a tight decision on replay.

As word spread that Burnley had taken the lead, Daniel Farke introduced Patrick Bamford and Largie Ramazani in a final push for the title.

Plymouth nearly dealt a cruel blow late on, with Ryan Hardie curling just wide in the 88th minute and Callum Wright testing Karl Darlow soon after, as the hosts looked dangerous on the counter.

But with time slipping away, Solomon stepped up. He drove into the box and slotted a composed finish past Hazard in stoppage time, sparking wild celebrations in the Leeds away end and sealing a dramatic title triumph.
